Crafty Mademoiselle Welcome Punch Art Card

The Stampin’ Up! Fox Builder Punch creates great Punch Art projects!

This punch art lady represents the backstory of how I chose Crafty Mademoiselle as my blog name from my days as a French Teacher while also telling each one of you I am glad you are here to visit my blog.

SU! Welcome Teacher Punch Art Card

This teacher punch art is just one of many I recently created with Stampin’ Up! punches.  My punch art designs were created when I challenged myself to come up with 100+ punch art creations from the Stampin’ Up! Fox Builder Punch which was a new release in the June in the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog.

When I first began playing with the Fox Punch, I chose to ‘Copy and Selectively Edit’ a fellow demonstrator from Germany , Lysette van Eekelen.  She had posted some of her beautiful creations on Pinterest.

Having had great fun with Lysette’s punch art designs,  I set out to create designs of my own, believing 100+ was easily possible.  After I had created enough of a mess that I needed to clean my work area, I decided to take a photo (at that time having made 96 items which included Lysette’s original designs as well as my own) and I posted the photo to 2 demonstrator only sites to show others how versatile this new punch is.  I received amazing feedback from these demonstrator sites and much encouragement to jump into blogging so that others could find me and my designs.

Here is the photo I posted:

SU! Fox builder Punch Art 96 items

Lysette’s 26 designs are contained within the 4 rows between the pink asterisks.  As stated, I altered some of her punch art designs slightly.  I did not have instructions to her designs. I only had a photo, which sadly did not include her name,  and I made them and edited as I desired. After posting this photo, with the asterisks & note that I was inspired by an unknown crafter, she commented on my post and I am able to share with everyone who it was who inspired me with the items between the asterisks.

I will be slowly introducing instructions to some of these and other punch art designs I made in my posts. (You’ll have to see Lysette’s site for hers.)  Additionally, I am working on providing downloadable tutorials on my punch art.  At the time this post and blog launched, my tutorials page is under construction, but they will be available  here .

In order to make the Crafty Mademoiselle Welcome Punch Art Card above, you will need the materials and sizes of cardstock (CS) listed in the following diagram:

SU! Welcome blackboard card

Now it is time to make some Punch Art!

  • Gather the Products Listed and punch out the pieces you need as indicated in the diagram.  It is always best to punch all needed pieces before gluing.
  • Use the Picture of the finished product as a guide to assemble.  I didn’t go into detail here as the diagram shows enough detail that you should be able to assemble this lady with the pieces & finished photo in front of you.
  • Since her head needed a support piece, there is a scrap you don’t see running behind her as support (size indicated on diagram) for her body and head.
  • When finished gluing, don’t forget to add her smile and white dots to highlight her eyes.

SU! Punch Art Teacher Lady

Don’t you think this would be a nice card to send to that special female teacher? (Sorry guys, I’ll have male punch art another day)

Scrapbookers: This punch art project would make a great focal point on a scrapbook page with the grade, teacher name or school name on the blackboard and a 1st day &/or school photo of your child as part of the page.  Inside the card you could write their favorite and least favorite things about the year. This gives your scrapbook page an interactive element. The Smoky Slate Neutrals Designer Series Paper stack I used as a photo backdrop in the card dimensions photo above would make for a great base to the page.  Mount your photos on Basic Black and Voila! an instant page with built in hidden journaling.

Here’s to the new beginning of my blog and all the creativity ahead… Cheers to you my new crafty friends!

Please Subscribe & stop by often to see the new things I’ve made. I have many things planned for this blog, including plenty of punch art designs.

If I can help you with any of your Stampin’ Up! purchases, let me know. I’d love to be your demonstrator if you don’t already have one.  Just click HERE and you’ll be taken to my Stampin’ Up! site where you can order some of the great SU! products used in today’s sample.

I know you are going to want that Fox Builder Punch (item#141470) if you don’t already own it.  It really is quite a great item! I will be featuring it, the Owl Builder Punch (item#118074), the Jar of Haunts stamp set (item#142247), the Jolly Friends stamp set & Punch Bundle (item#143511), & the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set & Punch Bundle (item#143493) in many of my punch art posts over the next few months.  Of course you’ll see other things too, but I believe you’ll really like some of the things I’ve come up with from these items and want you to have items in hand so you can create when you are inspired.  These items with the addition of a variety of cardstock, scissors, the Fine Tip Glue Pen,  a black marker, & white chalk pen will keep you creating fun stuff from here through Christmas. Add a few ink pads and embellishments & you’ll only wish you had more time!

Until next time…

-Joanne
