This hello lovely Jar of Love (stamps & die bundle) layout turned out better than I imagined it in my head.
It took a considerable amount of time stamping and die-cutting all the flowers for this page, but I am very pleased with the end results.
I’ve always liked the combination of pink & green. The Mint Macaron & Blushing Bride card stocks are great together for this combination. Having not been a big fan of Mint Macaron when it debuted in 2015, I can now say that I will sorely miss this color as it leaves in May after it’s 2-year stint in the In-Color family line of 2015-2017. But as it goes, I’m sure something wonderful will take the place it has now fondly filled in my heart. Perhaps I’ll need time warming up to those 2017-2019 In-Colors too, or I may love them instantly. I can’t wait to find out in the next few months what they’ll be! …And perhaps some time my day will be made and all my favorite colors will return to the line-up so that I can play with them again. …Okay, I’ll stop dreaming now!
Speaking of dreaming though, this page really gave me that dreamy-girl feeling. Perhaps it is the color combination: In addition to the colors already mentioned, there is the Black & White bold striped paper from the Pop of Pink DSP, Wisteria Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, and Flirty Flamingo Inks, & the added touch of Gold Foil paper for the leaves & heart.
I’ve been stingy …frugal? … cheap? in the past and didn’t used much of this foil paper. I’m a convert! This page would not be the same without it! Please don’t be like I was, waiting for the perfect moment to break out the foil paper. It really is that little something that can take your projects from okay to WOW!
The Stitched Shapes Framelits also add that extra touch to the center embellishment. The “hello lovely” is a stamp in the Hello Lovely Project Life accessories pack. And that bow- LOVE that cute bow which is from the Holly Berry Happiness & matching Punch which carried over from the 2016 Holiday catalog. I find myself putting that bow on quite a few things these days.
Yes, this page took a bit of time and a few more supplies than my usual designs. But I did it in steps; While I was double stamping the Jar of Love flowers, (All done with same color per flower, just by over-stamping same color for highlight color until shading was the darkness desired-A nice stamp positioner is helpful for this process!) I just made a whole pile of them for this project and future projects before even starting the layout. Then I could just play around as I created.
As I mentioned, May will come around and some products will retire whether we like it or not. If there is something in the Annual catalog you want, don’t wait for the retired list to come out and things to go away. Stock up on any out-going 2015-2017 In-Color paper, Inks, & Ink Refills now while they are still in stock.
