Framelits Bunny & Rainbow

Playing with Framelits & Thinlits can result in some fun card or scrapbook embellishments.

Since it is now officially Spring here (the weather will follow eventually), my mind is on colors, flowers, and Easter.

I’ve had this bunny in my head since I made the black cat version back around Halloween, but finally sat down to make it with Easter just around the corner.

.

The Bunny was made with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits from Stampin’ Up!,  which you see below, using the small & medium (trimming off barbs) circle swirls and the leaves as ears (interior/exterior).

Note: You can make his bigger friend using medium & large circle swirls!

I Used Chocolate Chip & Flirty Flamingo Cardstock to create my bunny and added a Smokey Slate ribbon bow and handmade (approximately 1/2″) Whisper White baker’s twine pom-pom tail.

Want to forgo making a pom-pom bunny tail?  March’s Paper Pumpkin had some cute pom-poms about this size which you could use (there’s even a Fliry Flamingo one there!) if you have them leftover.  OR That Small circle in the bottom right corner of the Thinlets photo above would be about the right size to make a cardstock tail AND it would lie flat for mailing a card!

After creating the above bunny, I decided to make a rainbow from the Up & Away Thinlits & Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Those clouds from the Up & Away Thinlits are so fun to use.

  • The Rainbow uses all of the Stitched Shapes Framelit Circles.
  • Just nest them inside each other as you cut the color-For the Cherry Cobbler you would nest the two largest circles.
  • I use Washi tape to keep the dies in place as I run them through the Big Shot.
  • Since I felt I really needed to add the blue layer and was out of circles, I went ahead and used a stitched oval for that color.  It is hidden by the clouds enough that the different shape isn’t immediately evident.
  • I created this 6″x4″ pocket card with the A Little Foxy paper stack and added some raining Cherry Cobbler hearts cut from a die in the Everyday Jars Framelits.

I eventually decided to make a scrapbook layout with another bunny & rainbow which included the Basket Builder Framelits Dies for the basket, eggs, chocolate bunny, chicks, peeps, and grass.

The Falling In Love DSP includes this Soft Sky dandelion fluff paper and I used the coordinating Falling In Love Cardstock pack for the Blushing Bride background 12″x12″.

Whether you choose to make your Thinlit & Framelit designs into pocket cards for scrapbooking, card toppers for cards or embellishments for a scrapbook page (Or all of the above!), have fun creating!

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time…
