Some days I believe I function because of my morning coffee. Other days, I’m not sure it helps at all. In either case, I’m a sucker for a good cup of coffee. I know many people who feel the same way and believe the new Coffee Cafe Suite of products will certainly make some card recipients perk up when they receive happy mail.
Part of this suite of products is the Stamps/Dies Bundle. Being able to stamp and cut the cup, lid, sentiment, cup band, and beans makes this project really easy. I adore those little coffee beans!
In each of these cards I decided to use the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack (6″x6″) and embossing folders. I’m a big fan of the embossing which can be achieved from the dynamic textured impressions embossing folders and chose to use both the returning hexagon and new leaves folders for these three cards.
It is important to remember that the sentiments may have a specific shape, in this case meant to fit inside the stamped cup image, but can be placed into another shape as I’ve done in these last two examples. The entire sentiment was not used for the second card either. In fact, I have cut my stamp apart (carefully with sharp scissors) so that I could easily stamp, “Happiness is a cup of coffee” separate from, “shared with a friend” many times without the fuss. Keep in mind, I can always put them onto my block and stamp together again, but this way I don’t have to mask or worry about only inking part of the stamp each time I want them separate.
In addition to the Petal Garden DSP stack, I used the images from one sheet of the Coffee Cafe DSP to get the pots and little mugs. While you will have to hand-cut (aka: fussy cut) the pot and other images from the designer series paper for this suite, those little coffee cups do have a matching die. I chose not to use it this day; I didn’t want the small white border and I already had the scissors in my hands.
Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time…
