I wonder how much Santa & the elves would be accomplishing at this time of year without the gentle nudge (big push!) from Mrs. Claus.
In today’s post we learn how to celebrate Christmas Mrs. Claus style! How to create her from the You’ve Got Style stamp set ( see below) by Stampin’ UP! Plus, how to use that embossing paste to create dimensional fur on the stylish coat Mrs. Claus is sporting.
I always like to stretch the use of sets beyond the original and immediate planned use. This set didn’t speak to me at first, but later I realized the multiple uses for the elements in the set. Sometimes with a few simple alterations, a stamp can become something entirely different.
Turn the fur coat woman into Mrs. Claus:
After you stamp this woman from the You’ve Got Style stamp set, you will need to draw a few lines to create the pom-pom part of the Christmas hat. It’s very easy, as you see in the diagram below.
You can also draw in lines to widen her legs, then color in the entire “x” area with black marker.
After you Color her in, why not add texture paste to mimic fur? What worked well for me was using a q-tip dipped in the container and patting into the areas of the stamp where I wanted the fur effect.
I think the real Mrs. Claus celebrates with her husband (Santa) and a glass of her favorite beverage. She’s got to be a sweet but sassy woman to deal with all those elves AND her husband leaving her every year for a trip around the world, dropping down chimneys and eating all those goodies while she sits at home waiting for his return. I’m certain she celebrates. Don’t you agree?
Until next time…
