Happy Thanksgiving Gratitude Chocolate Gifts

Chances are if you saw me the last two days you received a gratitude chocolate from me. These simple to make chocolate wrappers make a bag of circular dollar tree candy (crisped rice or peppermint patties) into a quick place setting or hand out.

While I handed out a bunch of these chocolates individually to various people with whom I came in contact, this mini football (also found at dollar tree in pack of 2) was the carrier for ones I took to an appointment I had- the office staff is so kind, I like to recognize that!

DIRECTIONS:

1) Using your chocolate, determine the size of the Layering Circle which will be big enough to cover it. This will be your solid circle.

2) Then determine the scalloped die in the Layered Circles framelits which will frame your circle from step one nicely. You will make 2 of these for every 1 of the solid circles (unless you want designs on both sides).

3) Attach your scalloped circles to both sides of your wrapped chocolate using glue dots.

4) Attach solid circle to top of the scalloped circle.

5) Choose your decoration(s). I used the Colorful Seasons leaves, but you could do different colors and definitely make these for ANY OCCASION!  Try snowflakes or hearts,  use punches for flowers, gingerbread, Holly, or a multitude of critters with the fox punch.

6) Teeny Tiny Wishes has a saying for most holidays. I stamped that in Momento ink and punched with a retired label punch ( there are current punches and dies which will also work well- I was in a rush and still love this punch.

7) Add a twine bow with a glue dot, if desired.

That is it! I said they were simple.

And they brought many a smile to unsuspecting people. The guy collecting Goodwill donations gave me the biggest grin when I dropped off a bag of stuff and asked if he’d like a chocolate gift. That doctor’s office is counting the days until my next visit- which happens to be on St. Nicholas day, December 6th.  I’m wondering if they know appointments around holidays mean little gifts? They are excited to see what I come up with next. They smile, I smile. Life is good.

Have a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Until next time…

Autumn Scrapbook Layout with Colorful Seasons Products

When school is back in session and football returns to television, it is clear that Autumn is about to arrive.  While I love the crisp cool weather and getting to wear turtlenecks and sweaters again, living in a wooded area means A LOT of leaves which need to be removed.  As I age (sigh) I have to remind myself of the beauty and not the impending tasks.

This layout went together quickly after all the leaves were colored and cut. Simply using multiple colors of the watercolor pencils on watercolor paper, then adding water with the aqua painter gives the paper the needed appearance for the die cut leaves. (Sample below)

I even think I will use that negative scrap on a card another day!

Memories and More comes to the rescue again with the perfect touches. I used dies & my trimmer to cut some of the cards for the phrases.

I still have a couple of weeks until I have that peak of leaves season, but really wanted to play with these products from the Colorful Seasons Bundle (stamps & dies) again. Now, when I get busy this Fall, I already have one page ready for three photos (3″x4″).

There’s just something about Autumn that makes me happy.

I hope you’re enjoying your day in your part of this beautiful world.

Until next time…

How To Combine Stamp Sets For A Great Summer Card

Summer lends itself well to relaxing and thinking of beautiful people and places.  It is even better if you are enjoying time with wonderful people in beautiful places.  But if you are still at work and need something to remind you of a past or future vacation and someone sends you a “Hello, Sunshine” card you may briefly be taken away from the day to day work place and imagine the relaxing days until you can get away again.

A day at the beach, kicking back with iced lemonade, sand between my toes, seagulls flying by a lighthouse, and the crashing surf.  Ahh…Summer!

Do you see those Crushed Curry enamel dots in the corner of the card?  Oh how I love them!  They are ombre shades of Dapper Denim, Crushed Curry, Berry Burst, and Old Olive AND have glitter embedded in the dot…Just look below:

They are fabulous!!!  As you can see, I used a few from the sheet before snapping the picture to show you the glittery loveliness of these enamel dots.  I’ll definitely be reordering more!

There are so many great new products in the 2017-2018 Annual Stampin’ UP! catalog.  Perusing through it is a bit of a dream.  You can check it out and also shop with me HERE.

Take a peek at the new pocket card scrapbook line called Memories and More while you are checking out the catalog.  I’ll be posting cards and 12″x12″ layouts which use these products in days to come.  The Color Theory Suite is in my TOP 10 new favorites. I think you may fall in love with it for all your seasonal needs too; it has a little something for Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall (okay did you just start singing? …Sorry for the James Taylor song earwig.)

Until next time…

Sneak Peek Of The Colorful Seasons Bundle- Coming June 1, 2017

Colorful Seasons is a great name for what I expect to be a popular stamp & die bundle in the June 1, 2017 Stampin’ UP! Annual Catalog.  This set has something for all four seasons.  Today I share just a hint of what is to come in this great bundle and introduce products for two of the seasons: Spring & Summer.

What reminds you that Winter is ending and Spring is arriving more than flowers blooming.  Colorful Seasons has a beautiful offering of cherry blossoms and a gorgeous saying, “Just Breathe”.

The small flowers were stamped onto watercolor paper with a new In-Color called Berry Burst, spritzed with water and allowed to dry before stamping the branches and sentiment with Chocolate Chip ink. Simple and so very satisfying-just like Spring.

As Spring slowly fades into Summer, the new In-Color Lemon Lime Twist will bring a bright uplifting feeling to the cards you make with the Colorful Seasons dies and/or stamps.  This Adirondack chair die cut is just one of the fabulous dies in the set.

Prepare to relax with your favorite beverage poolside this Summer and send a friend or loved one a card telling them how much you wish they were there spending time with you.  This Fresh Fig stamped beach chair makes me want to bury my feet in sand and read a good book.

The images I’ve shown are just a sampling of the stamps & dies in this set.  In addition, there are leaves, snowflakes, a large scalloped border and wonderful stamp sentiments. The Colorful Seasons Bundle is the bundle for anyone who makes cards OR scrapbook pages. I love when products work well with both, don’t you?

If you’re a beginner or a pro at scrapbooking or card making, I think this set will help you make great projects. I’d be happy to help you get started or add to your craft supplies. Contact me for a catalog. If you can’t wait for the physical catalog to arrive,  you can shop with me online when the new one goes live June 1st.

And don’t forget, this is your last chance to grab retiring products before they are gone from SU! shelves.  They are going quick!

Until next time…
