Once the Autumn leaves start falling it feels like I never have enough time or energy to accomplish things that need done. That is when quick cards like this one can be made and sent without taking too much any time or energy I have remaining.
I always like to recognize those who truly do “make me smile.” It has been a week of things that have gone wrong, broken, or just not gone as I had wished or planned. In times like these, it is always great to have those who can bring laughter & smiles to the situation. Perspective changes and life goes on. I am so grateful to those who build me up, challenge my thinking, make me laugh uncontrollably, and make me a better person. I am blessed.
Do you send cards to those who brighten up your day? Or to those who need their day brightened?
It is simple to get this quick card to the post…
- The leaf image is a Color Theory Memories & More card.
- The “You make me Smile” phrase is from the Colorful Seasons photopolymer set and stamped with Black Archival ink.
- The Memories and More card is matted to match the leaf.
- The copper ribbon is added before mounting askew onto a piece of Wood Grain DSP.
- The card front is then matted onto a Pumpkin Pie layer and Basic Black card base.
- An interior Whisper White mat was added for my handwritten message.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll surely say it many more times- Memories and More cards are not only for quick scrapbook pages (traditional & pocket), but can be used for cards and….More – SU! Named this one well!
Make someone smile today!
Until next time…
I have now fallen in love with the Petal Garden suite of products by Stampin’ UP! and the Memories & More pocket cards have been front & center in my scrapbook & card making lately.
I know I’ve stated before how much I love the new Memories & More pocket card line Stampin’ UP! created for making cards, but I really can’t gush enough about how fantastic this line transforms easily to card making.
The 1/8″ sheer ribbon is fantastic to work with. It comes in Whisper White, Fresh Fig, Calypso Coral, and Old Olive. It ties easily and a bow is simply adhered with one glue dot.
The “seriously” & “LOVE YOU” are just two of the stickers in the Petal Garden Memories & More pack. Here, I added dimensionals to part of the “LOVE YOU” sticker and just allowed the sticker to do the rest of the work on adhering these to the project.
These cards are so simple to make. I chose a few Memories & More cards, matching Petal Garden DSP stack paper, matching cardstock, and some framelits (square & oval).
Did you notice that there is no stamping? Okay, you don’t think I’d really make a card without some ink, did you? This Petal Gardens Suite has a matching stamp set called Graceful Garden which creates a beautiful insert page and is perfect to stamp an image to make the envelope coordinate (pictures of inserts/envelopes not shown).
Isn’t that rose beautiful?
The whole suite is really nice.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Until next time…
Welcome to my stop on the first ever Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop! If you have come here from other participants, I hope you are enjoying your journey around the hop and getting as inspired by them as I am. So much talent!
Today I bring to the hop a double page spread of some daily happenings here in my neck of the woods.
My two Shih-tzu girls just love gazing out the window (Yes, I have given over the sofa table to this event) and the critter visitors are their favorites. This Spring & Summer we’ve had regular visits from these deer. The girls have taken to talking to them and surprisingly they seem to lift their heads and take in the barking instead of running off.
These pages use Memories & More cards which have quickly become my favorite products out of this year’s annual Stampin’ UP! catalog. I’ve used the Petal Gardens pack for this project because I wanted to add color to the layout. This pack had great stickers for small titles and those fantastic roses which matched the cards and it coordinated well with the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP I used.
All of the cards I used were cut to fit the layout. Remember you don’t need to keep the Memories & More cards at the given size. Use them just like paper and cut them as needed.
I’ve always liked having a great border punch and the new Decorative Border Punch is a great addition; It softens any layout by taking away some of the focus on those sharp corners.
Of course a great 12″x12″ layout includes a good title with the Large Letters Framelits Dies and the Brushwork Alphabet stamps brings it all together. Oh, and handwritten journaling… you know others want to see that even if you don’t like your handwriting.
I hope you’ve liked this stop on the hop. Clicking the Next button below will take you to Christine Alward’s lovely layout.
Until next time…

As I described last week, with just a few additions and alterations to the Memories and More Color Theory products you can have cards or 12″x12″ layouts.
While there were no comments on that post, those who saw me in person requested more card ideas from these products. I’m happy to share additional greeting cards today using the Color Theory Memories and More products.
June is the most popular month for weddings. This card using the Colorful Seasons dies, Stitched Shape dies and papers from the Color Theory & Wood Textures 6″x6″ lines may be a perfect one for the new couple having a beach wedding. No stamping necessary-just cut the sentiment from the center of the card using a Square Stitched Shapes die & flip the pattern side over to create an inlay of the sentiment.
The same Cut & Flip idea is used on the Spring card below. Adding the beautiful Cherry Blossom dies really creates interest to this otherwise simple card.
Cutting out the sentiments can lead to these great Winter cards too:
The large 4″x6″ cards are trimmed to create TWO 2″x5.5″ strips for the snowy designer paper on these cards. Colorful Seasons dies create those fantastic Filver Foil snowflakes. Oh, how wonderful are those Glitter Enamel Dots as centers!
My favorite? These Autumn leaves create absolutely stunning cards!
I used Watercolor Pencils, Watercolor Paper, and Aqua Painter Pens to create the colorful backgrounds for the sentiment and additional leaves. I LOVE the results of these most. The striped strip and printed leaves (small card, as is, from the pack) are all from the Color Theory Memories and More set.
It really doesn’t take much to create greeting cards from the Memories and More set. I’m anxiously awaiting delivery of the 3 other Memories and More collections in order to have quick projects at my fingertips for those days I want to create, but don’t want to use a multitude of techniques or materials to do so.
Until next time…
Memories and More is the new line of pocket scrapbook products by Stampin’ UP! It is, as the name implies “More” than just products for your scrapbook needs.
Last week I had a few hours to play with the Color Theory Memories and More pack and created 8 cards and 4 layouts (12″x12″) and still have more than half the pack left for pocket scrapbook elements or other ideas that have been running through my mind. (Read 10 ways to use these products after the samples.)
This layout uses the following Color Theory Memories and More products:
- 2 of the smaller cards for interest
- 1 large card with “Summer Memories” trimmed off and trimmed from both sides equally then mounted to the original card from which it came. This creates a title & journal area
- “together ” photo overlay cut in half lengthwise and used as additional title element
- stickers (starbursts/suns & cameras)
In addition, the layout uses coordinating Color Theory paper stack and Glitter enamel dots from the Color Theory Suite of products. Color coordination-something really fantastic about products by SU!
Do you prefer to make cards? These Memories & More products are great for that too!
The birthday card shown is simply scraps of matching card stock and Color Theory DSP to which a small polka dot card, “happy” overlay, & sticker “such a perfect year” from the Color Theory Memories and More pack was added to finish the card. *The flame was cut with a die from the Swirly Scribbles set.
These are just two projects created from the Memories and More pocket card collection using the cards in different ways than for pocket style scrapbooks. There are so many possibilities with this product line.
Here are 10 ways to put the Memories and More products to use:
- Use in your pocket scrapbook pages as inserts
- Use as design elements on your full size scrapbook layouts
- Use as card fronts
- Use as designer series paper
- Use as lunchbox notes (encouraging notes in lunches for your loved ones)
- Use as tuck in notes for cards (so recipients can reuse a card)
- Use as a memory game for small children (there are 2 of each-just cover 1 side with the same designer paper or colored cardstock and you’re done!)
- Use for home decorating (add in an empty photo album)
- Use the printed sentiments or designs with your circle, oval, squar, & heart dies and create fridge magnets or computer candy which can brighten the day or season.
- Use the added elements (stickers, die cuts, printed overlays, etc) to decorate your journal, day planner, notebook, or to create shaker cards- just to name a few non-scrapbook related uses.
I would love to know if you come up with more ideas for the Memories and More products.
