Surprise! Autumn is almost upon us here on the U.S. East coast. Schools are returning to session and pools are soon to close until next Memorial Day weekend. Sometimes I can’t believe how quickly time passes.
Today I’m sharing a card I made with the At Home with You bundle.
This bundle was one of my favorites when I first saw the annual catalog because it had stamps which would be useful for many times of the year. I like versatile sets like this because I know I’ll use them a lot. Spring, Autumn, Christmas, & New Home cards are easily created with this set.
When I was playing with the embossing paste I made quite a few different color backgrounds with this diamond patterned mask. It provides a nice background with texture which I really like. Adding in the burlap ribbon adds additional texture and that Autumn feel.
I really like the pumpkin pie, lemon lime twist, Bermuda Bay, & hints of whisper White color combo for fresh take on Autumn colors.
When there’s texture in a card, a simple focal point hand colored image & even simpler sentiment is all a card needs.
until next time…
P.S. I’ll be sharing Holiday catalog creations soon- I just don’t want to tempt you too much since customers can’t buy until September 1st.
When I saw the At Home with You bundle (photopolymer stamps & framelits/dies) I was very excited about the versatility of this set. Check out the items in the bundle (bundle photo supplied by the SU! online store):
There are many exciting things about this bundle, but at the top of the list is a Framelit which allows the door to open so that a hidden message may be revealed when the recipient opens the door. How fun is that?!
I also believe this set is so useful to have for the seasonal pieces alone. They can be used as stand alone pieces to embellish other cards, home decor, scrapbook items or can be used to embellish the entryway door as seen in this card:
On this card I did not cut the door to open. Instead I decided to use the Brick Wall embossing folder with the new Wood Textures paper for the porch, score lines to mimic siding, and add a roof with 1/2″ black strips which were angle cut on the ends. I even added a house number on the small sign from the set to mark the house number for my card recipient’s new home.
The same set creates such a great Christmas card. The door opens to provide a hidden sentiment on the front of this card. I think a simple “Merry Christmas” will do since the inside will contain more wishes for the season.
See that garland hanging over the door? Do you have these Hearth & Home thinlit dies which create a window? Guess what? The garland from this At Home with You set fits over the window. How great is it when one set extends the life of another!
