Combine Stampin’ Up! Hello Friend With Holly Berry Punch to make Seasonal Wreaths

The changing of the Seasons is upon us (there were snowflakes yesterday!) and that means new decor which includes seasonal wreaths.

Halloween is now over and I’m already playing Christmas music and watching Hallmark Christmas movies, but I also like to remember and celebrate harvest-aka a time of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving really was the most enjoyable holiday when I was growing up. Extended family, food (homemade noodles are my favorite), and playing with cousins. Great times and lifelong friendships with cousins developed over those good old days gathering together for the Thanksgiving meal.

So, I don’t want to skip this holiday season, although I’m also planning & decorating for the next. I’m mingling Thanksgiving decorations with Christmas at the moment, before the harvest season passes and the rest of the Christmas decorations come out. Like that, I share with you a mingling of the two for today’s cards. If you want Seasonal cards, these wreaths cover both holidays & will be the base for future seasonal creations as well.

Hello Friend is a great set in the Annual Stampin’ Up catalog which can easily get overlooked. It is the set created as a companion to the project kit of the same name. However, it is simply a great stand alone set to have- especially if you like wreaths.

Add to it the great Holly Berry Punch & Holly Berry Happiness stamps and your wreaths will have bows and berries too!

The Layering circles framelits cut the wreath out nicely creating a nice wreath shape for a card front or scrapbook page.

The fall wreath shown below was created by inking individual areas of the stamp with the  SU! Markers and huffing on the stamp immediately before stamping to paper to re-moisten any dried ink which may have happened in the marker-to-stamp inking time.

I created the diamond paper with the Pattern Party Decorative Masks.

And yes, I did hand cut (aka fussy cut) the hello after also inking with markers.

As you can see in the next sample, changing ink & paper colors, plus adding the berries from that same Holly Berry punch can turn this into a Christmas card. The sentiment comes from that same Holly Berry Happiness set.

You may already notice how easily it would be to add the flowers from the Hello Friend stamps to create a Spring or Summer wreath.

These two sets marry together nicely to create wreaths for all seasons. As someone who can’t seem to stamp enough wreaths, I’m very happy to be able to create many varieties with just two stamp sets, a coordinating punch, and the ever so useful Layering Circle Dies.

Until next time…
