Playing With The Pretty Stampin’ Up! Paper

Are you hoarding paper in your craft stash or playing with it?

Today is all about what I’ve been doing this week with some of the pretty Stampin’ Up! paper.

For instance, this new Petal Passion DSP is fantastic! I love it in black and white, but I wanted to try coloring it with the Blends.

My results were worth the time!

I spent an evening watching television coloring with my Blends and WOW, this paper is beautiful with color added! I can’t wait to show you how I used it, but that will have to wait. I was impressed with how the back of this same paper looked like an impressionist painting because of the above coloring. It makes me wonder what I can do with that side too! Take a peek:

Here’s another from that same pack:

It is so easy to make any black and white paper match your projects by coloring it with any color you choose.

Sometimes just using the images in the paper is the best way to use your paper. The Myths & Magic Specialty DSP has fantastic glittery embossed  images on one side and nice patterns on the other.

I really wanted to use a bunch of the mermaids for some cards, so I chopped up an entire sheet, carefully planning how I could get the most  mermaids. I quickly realized cutting out the mermaids with snips was going to take forever, so I opted for die cutting them. This is the result from one sheet of 12”x12” paper.

The bottom die cut mermaids were special. I cut the tips of the tails out by hand and then placed that portion over the circle die so the cut would not take off the tail, but cut the circle. I promise pictures of this process Tuesday, when some of the cards I made with these die cuts are posted.

Sometimes there are dies which will cut out items from the DSP. The Bubbles and Fizz DSP you can earn with $50.00 USD purchase during 2018 Sale-a-bration is a great example. The papers with the bottle caps and larger bottles have images sized to fit the Bubble Over dies.

I challenge you to play with at least ONE sheet of Designer Series (patterned) Paper this week. Cut it up, alter it, color it, ink it, and then create something with it. Are you with me?

Stop by on Tuesday to see a few of the cards I made with the mermaids. Plus, I’ll have a photo tutorial on how to do the partial die cut so the tail isn’t removed.

Until then…
